Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent class survey! Your feedback was invaluable, and we’re excited to share the results with you. We’ve compiled your responses to our questions, which will help us achieve our initiatives.
On October 12th the committee got together and went over your responses. What we learned was that the majority of people were extremely pleased with the 45th reunion and the activities food and locations of the events that were offered.
There were also great comments and suggestions from all of you regarding the website, future activities and of course the huge 50th reunion that'll be held in 2029. One thing that was brought up over and over again was people would love to see more participation from the alumni . Obviously that is not only a major goal of mine, but for the entire reunion committee as well. Since it's you, members of the class of 79, that makes this site and events as successful, and as enjoyable as they are.
Once again, your voices and opinions matters to all of us very much, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our alumni community together! With that said we went over the results, and below are just a few of the topics that multiple respodents brought up
Website-
Q Are there any features or sections that you believe need improvement?
These were the biggest and most often responses we received.
A: More involvement from classmates.
B: Is it possible to have a news section for those of us who hate FB?
C: Missing persons list and up to date Memorial page.
Response:
A: Those of us on the reunion committee would love to see higher class participation as well. It’s the reason and purpose behind the website. If you are planning an activity, or promoting a business or project, please let us know and we'll help out in anyway. As long as you're a Ram, we'd be happy to help out. The site is meant to be fun and an informative place to visit and keep updated to activities that we have planned in the future.
B: Members of the committee were a little unsure as what was meant by a news section. What type of news are you hoping to have added? We’d love to know exactly. If those who suggested this could contact us and let us know more. We’d love to have it explained to us and see what we can do.
C: We are trying very hard to keep the Missing persons and Memorial page as up to date as possible. In fact, over that last 2 weeks since our meeting I’ve done an extensive search this month and have attempted to find contact information for many people on those list. As you can imagine it can be very hard and often difficult. Just a reminder to everyone, we are no longer contacting anyone by snail mail, and are looking for either a persons email address so we can add them to our class email list or if they are on Facebook, LinkedIn or in the near future X. they can join us at those pages.
Reunion -
For the most part everyone really enjoyed the location, venue, food and the low keyed atmosphere of the reunion itself. In fact, 100% of those who responded indicated that the event met and or exceeded their expectations.
Some suggestions that were made for the next reunion included another tour of the old facilities, class photos on name tags, increase attendance, hire a photographer, make it a three day event for those coming from out of town, more activities as well as golf, include music and dancing, introducing the committee members and adding new committee members, include a raffle, plus many more great ideas.
Response:
The committee will be looking into everything, and everything is definitely do-able. However, no matter what choices we make, we won’t be able to please everyone, so we’ll continue to try to please as many people as possible and hope that you understand. That being said, most of the suggestions are things that we can, and plan on doing.
The majority of our classmates really seem to enjoy being able to sit back and talk with people, having a band or DJ would probably interfere with that, so at this time that most likely won’t be feasible, however, we’ll make sure to keep an open mind and see what other options may be available.
Through the survey Lori Anne William and Dianne Wilson Carlson expressed interest in joining the committee, and I have sent each an invitation to do just that. At this time We're still waiting to hear back from Diane, but right now I'd like to let everyone know That Lori Anne is now a member of our committee. If anyone else is interested in joining please let us know.
Monthly activities or get togethers -
61 percent of those who responded to this indicated that they’d love to see activities such as pickle ball, bowling, meet & greets, picnics, golfing, dance lessons, poker, etc…. to promote our classmates getting together more often.
Response:
As we approach the holiday season and end of the year. We will most likely not be planning get togethers until after the start of the new year. But in 2025 we plan on starting them up again. We invite all the alumni from the class of 79 to submit ideas of activities we could have. Other than simply meeting at a bar for cocktails, some suggestions that have been passed along to us again include Meet Ups that includes maybe learning new things like poker or dancing, cooking, bowling.....etc, Or maybe a class car show. For those who have classic and vintage cars or any car let’s show em off. Again, let’s hear ideas from the Class and see what fun things we can come up with.
