45th Ramsey Reunion -2024
This years reunion weekend was held on the weekend of August 16th and 17th, and as always it was kicked off with the annual golf scramble that was held on Friday August 16th at The Como Park Golf Club. A minor controversy occurred as teams 3 and a combined team 5 and 6 tied for first place with a 2 over par 37. Representatives from those teams discussed the situation and decided to place the winning share of the prize payout back into the reunion fund to be used in five years.
Other winners included Diane Wilson and Bobby Janssen for longest drives. While Diane LeCuyer Snuggerud and Ken Frigstad won the closet pin contest. Congratulations to those and everone who participated on the beautiful day.
The fun continued at the Como Park club house as a class meet & greet was held for all alumni. Again we had great participation by our classmates, and the party lasted into the hours of the evening.
On Saturday the 17th, the weekend's grand event, the reunion itself, was held at the Best Western Shoreview Events Center. Those in attendance, celebrated the evening laughing, having fun sharing stories and celebrated being together once again. The weather was perfect, the venue was amazing, and spirit of the Alexander Ramsey Class of 79 filled the room and evening.
In Closing
The reunion committee and I would like to take this time to express our gratitude to all of those who made these events so entertaining. The Green Mill and Events Center that did an outstanding job in catering our reunion and to our bartender Carley who served all of us with great humor and laughter. Not to be outdone by the staff at Como Park Golf Course and Cozy's Bar & Grill.
To Paul Kielb and Tom Arneberg (alumni '78) and Tom's wife Beth who helped us with registration. Most of all we'd like to send out thanks to the whole Alexander Ramsey class of 1979 for making these events possible and so enjoyable. Now it's onto the 50th reunion. Have a great and most rewarding five years everyone.
Finally I want to thank Eva Axdorph, Nancy Paulos Herzog and Sheila Johnsonn Youngquist who took so many of these great photos and sending them to me to post. Thank you ladies.
